Euro 2020 scotland
Location: Hampden Park Glasgow
Client: UEFA
Due to COVID 19 the Euros 2020 was unfortunately delayed and took place in football stadiums across Europe in 2021. As a result, Hampden Park football stadium in Glasgow was chosen to host a series of games. This was a particularly challenging event to be part of for a number of reasons, and the pressure was on.
This was arguably the first large event Europe had seen after an 18-month battle with COVID. The event required 20+ crew attending Hampden Park each day working closely together under the current restrictions. Silverback was chosen as a primary crew provider, the production companies needed a crew supplier they could rely upon to work responsibly and confidently. The whole world was watching, and there was no room for error.
It was a privilege to be chosen as crew provider to work on an event that would be viewed around the world, and there was of course justified sigh of relief once the event was over. The Scotland Regional Manager (Aly Fraser) had a great deal to organise and contend with, such as filling large last-minute requests, crew getting struck down with COVID-19 and of course ensuring the safety of all our crew.
