What does Silverback offer you that other places of work doesn’t?
Flexibility, in previous jobs I’ve had to work my life around the job and barely had any free time. With Silverback I can finally work the job around my life and have a bit of freedom. It’s given me time to do keep training and playing rugby and also play in bands. Work/life balance is important and with Silverback I can strike that balance. It can be some long hours but because I have agency in choosing them they seem to fly by.
What has been your favourite job whilst working at Silverback? And Why?
My favourite job so far was for the launch of the new W Hotel at the St James Quarter . Was working with a good group of lads, even the Manchester ones, and the client was great. Some mad hours on a busy construction site and it went up to the wire but everyone was up for a hard graft when it was needed. The whole hotel was lit up and dominated the Edinburgh skyline all weekend so it was cool saying to my pals that I’d been involved in that.
What attracted you to join Silverback?
I had done this kind of work before with another company and really enjoyed it, so when I saw a Silverback recruitment add I found their website. I was keen to get on board as they seemed more professional than other crewing companies out there, with the calibre of work they were involved in looking high quality and the kind of stuff I wanted to do.

What attracted you to join Silverback?
I’d come from working security and, though important, could be incredibly tedious and repetitive. I jumped at having the opportunity to work in a variety of locations and sites, for many different clients and to get involved with exciting projects. Thankfully with Silverback days are rarely the same. In fact, no hour is the same – a shift in the afternoon is often completely different from what I did on a job that morning.
What is your favourite aspect of working at Silverback?
My favourite part of working with Silverback is simply getting to work closely with returning clients. Building that rapport with repeat clients is so key. Gaining their hard-earned trust and confidence is really rewarding and to know that they know the job will be done to our high standard and thus their satisfaction is amazing. The sheer variety of projects I’m involved in with varying degrees of responsibility is hugely engaging and interesting,
What has been your favourite job whilst working at Silverback? And Why?
I thoroughly enjoyed working with a German client Ambion for the UEFA tournament in Hampden Park. We had the opportunity to install a complex structure while working in and around the stadium grounds. Even with covid restrictions it was a pleasure to work through the difficulties with competent crew and reliable clients on an exciting event. The client was baffled that we did the job so efficiently and quickly and they said we were the best crew they’d worked with across all the tournament’s host cities.
